We are pleased to have been commissioned to sell the 50+ year collections of antique Insurance Signs & related antique Insurance items AND ANTIQUE FIREFIGHTING memorabilia as collected by Mr Lewis L. Wilson of Cobleskill N.Y. All to be sold in 1 day with nothing withheld – and as always an absolute auction without reserves.
Mr Wilson’s career spanned 60 years as a very successful insurance agent and included serving as president of “The Professional Insurance Agents of New York”. Anyone having visited his offices in Cobleskill would long remember his Insurance & Firefighting collections which literally covered about every square inch of wall space in every room. Having recently retired, selling both his agency and his buildings – his collections come to market.

OVER 150 ANTIQUE INSURANCE COMPANY ADVERTISING SIGNS: 11 enameled porcelain signs; 49 reverse painted on glass signs, 15 brass signs including 2 with complete calendar functions, 2 signs on mirrors. MANY signs in bold multiple colors. Signs from all over the country from many New York to the Hartford stag, from San Francisco to New Orleans, to Boston, Ohio, Saint Louis, PA, Newark, & many more cities/towns. A few antique English insurance advertising signs.
